CONFICKER VIRUS: US$ 250,000 Virus

Ok, today I want to share with you guys a very expensive  and dangerous virus, called Conficker.

Conficker is also known as "DownUp". It is a computer worm that targeted for Microsoft operating system user. This virus was first found in october 2008. Now, this virus is attacking Microsoft XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2009, windows seven beta, and windows server 2008 R2 beta's network which was first detected earlier that month.

Conficker is a virus with a high technology and advance programming system.
BKIS, a Vietnam security firm said that they have found clues about this virus. They estimated that this virus, conficker is originated from China

Conficker is believed to be the most widespread computer worm or virus since SQL slammer in 2003. They believed that there are about 10 million computers in the world infected in this world wide. The spread of this worm is believed because of transferring USB from one computer to another computer.

Intramar, the French Navy computer network was infected with Conficker on 15 January 2009 which was published in "Jawa Pos" a few days later. The network was quarantined! Most of the aircraft was grounded because they could not download their flight plans.

A few days later The United Kingdom Ministry of Defense reported that some of their computer was infected. This virus has infected across the city, including hospitals! 800 computers was infected in this tragedy.

On 2nd February 2009, the Bundeswehr, the unified armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany claimed that about one hundred of their computers were infected!!!

As of 13 February 2009, Microsoft is offering a US$250,000 for anyone who can find the person who created/distributed this virus.

But you don't have to worry anymore about this virus! Because you can download a special anti virus for this virus.

But, before you scan your computer, make sure that your computer is not connected to any network. eg. Wireless, LAN, Dial Up, etc.

And remember to update your Microsoft windows (with Windows update) to always protect your computer against all harmful virus or worm.
